AWARD

Created in 2014 by PRIME EVENTS and William Schoppy Inc.
in recognition of Campo's more than three decades
of dedication to the student-athletes of the CAL.

The award will be presented to the senior varsity athlete
whose academic achievement and
dedication to community and service was
the most outstanding.




Courtney Heist of Cedar Creek High School was the 2017 winner
She received the award from Frank Campo

Courtney was on the lacrosse, soccer and softball teams – she was captain of the lacrosse team and one of the CAL's top goalies
She volunteered at Lions Blind Center since the age of 12
Spent 12 days in Cuba on a mission trip with the Board of World Mission
Spent day with emotionally disrupted youth at Eastern District Church Synod Bethlehem Pennsylvania
For the past 8 years has participated in a 30-hour Famine to bring awareness and raise money for world vision
Participated in roast beef dinners, spaghetti dinners, women's tea, coffeehouse, funnel cake and ribbon fries sales,
pancake breakfast and many other youth events since she was 5 years old
Started a non-profit organization called Socks for a Cause and collected 1000 pairs of socks for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission
Serves meals at the Rescue Mission
Helped the food pantry in the Moravian Church, serving 70 to 130 families a month
Freshmen Mentor 2 years at Cedar Creek
National Honor Society - 30 hours community service per school year
Was part of volunteer group for the Egg Harbor City wide cleanup
Junior counselor for two years at Hope Conference and Renewal Center for 3rd and 4th graders
National Honor Society member and Distinguished Varsity Scholar
Recipient of the NBC 10 and Widener University leadership scholarship
