in recognition of Campo's more than three decades
of dedication to the student-athletes of the CAL.

The award was presented to the senior varsity athlete
whose academic achievement and
dedication to community and service was
the most outstanding.




Linden Wineland of Mainland Regional High School is the 2022 winner

Wineland, who will attend Lehigh University, was the Cape-Atlantic League champion in cross country and a multiple all star in track.He served as captain of both teams.
He was president of the Class of 2022 at Mainland and president of the school’s Key Club. Wineland was a member of the National Honor Society with a grade point average of 5.09. He is a Post Crasher at the Harvey D. Johnson American Legion Post 295 where he aids veterans, assembles meals and helped refurbish the post building.
Wineland was a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society where he played piano and percussion instruments, reorganized the library and tutored a middle schooler on the piano. He was also president of Mainland’s Future Science Professionals and serves as a lifeguard with the Margate City Beach Patrol.
Normally the award is presented as part of The CAL Celebration on the Ocean City Music Pier along with other awards. But that event was cancelled last year due to COVID-19 exposure.
